CHESTER, N.J. — Family, friends, clients, and loved ones across New Jersey and New York are mourning the loss of William Patrick “Billy” Del Russo Jr., who passed away on June 5, 2026, at the age of 34.
Known for his infectious laugh, vibrant personality, and remarkable ability to make others feel welcome, Billy leaves behind a legacy defined by love, compassion, creativity, and meaningful connections. News of his passing has prompted an outpouring of tributes from family members, friends, colleagues, and clients whose lives were enriched by his presence.
Among the most heartfelt remembrances was a tribute shared by his sister, Maria Del Russo, who described Billy as the light of their family and a source of constant joy and unconditional love. Reflecting on the profound loss, she expressed gratitude for the memories they shared and spoke of the lasting impact Billy had on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A graduate of Mendham High School, Billy pursued his passion for beauty and fashion at the Artistic Academy for Hair. His talent, creativity, and natural charisma helped him build a successful career as a hairstylist, working in salons throughout New Jersey and New York. Over the years, he developed lasting relationships with clients, many of whom became close friends.
One of the highlights of Billy’s professional career came when he traveled to Paris as a hairstylist for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, an accomplishment that remained a source of pride throughout his life.
Those who knew Billy often said he possessed a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and appreciated. Whether meeting someone for the first time or reconnecting with a longtime friend, he approached every interaction with warmth, sincerity, and genuine kindness.
While he found fulfillment in his professional achievements, family remained at the center of Billy’s life. He cherished time spent with relatives and maintained especially close relationships with his many cousins. Family gatherings, holidays, celebrations, and simple moments together brought him immense happiness and created memories his loved ones will forever treasure.
Billy also held a special affection for the Jersey Shore, where some of his happiest memories were made. Summers spent in Manasquan, Mantoloking, and at the family’s beach house on Chadwick Beach Island were filled with laughter, friendship, and unforgettable experiences. Friends remember him as the life of every gathering, someone whose energy and humor could brighten any room.
Those closest to Billy say his greatest legacy is the way he made people feel. As a son, brother, hairstylist, cousin, colleague, and friend, he approached every relationship with authenticity, generosity, and love. Billy is survived by his loving parents, Diane Del Russo and William Del Russo; his sister, Maria Del Russo and her husband Ben; his brother, Anthony Del Russo and his fiancée Alessandra; as well as numerous relatives, friends, colleagues, and clients who will continue to cherish his memory.
A public visitation celebrating Billy’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road, Chester, New Jersey. Funeral services and interment will be private.
Though his passing leaves an irreplaceable void, Billy’s beautiful smile, generous spirit, and unwavering kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
