Family, friends, and members of the Louisville community are mourning the loss of Kevonte White, 27, who died following a shooting Saturday afternoon in west Louisville.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), officers responded at approximately 4:26 p.m. to the 4400 block of West Broadway after reports of a shooting near the Chickasaw and Shawnee neighborhoods.
Upon arrival, officers located White suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders rendered aid at the scene before transporting him to UofL Hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced dead, marking a sudden and tragic loss.
On Sunday, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed the victim’s identity as Kevonte White, 27. News of his passing has left family members and loved ones devastated as they come to terms with the violent and unexpected nature of the incident.
