OHNSTOWN, Pa. — The Bishop McCort community, the PA Elite Softball organization, and athletes across Pennsylvania are mourning the sudden loss of longtime softball coach and mentor Jimmy Myers, who died over the weekend after suffering a heart attack while returning home from a softball tournament.
Myers, who served as head coach of the Bishop McCort Crushers softball program and president of PA Elite Softball, dedicated more than two decades to developing young athletes both on and off the field. His unexpected passing has left players, families, fellow coaches, and community members heartbroken.
Widely respected throughout Pennsylvania’s softball community, Myers built a reputation not only as a skilled coach but also as a mentor who cared deeply about the personal growth and success of every athlete he coached. Through his leadership at Bishop McCort and PA Elite Softball, he helped countless young women develop confidence, discipline, and a love for the game.
